Before taking the test, we would urge you to actually plan your study beforehand. This step is one of the most important steps before cracking the test.
1. Positive mindset: The CA course is a challenging certification. Having a positive mindset while preparing is extremely important in the long run!
2. Prioritize understanding: One of the most important aspects of studying for CA, is to prioritize understanding over learning. Understanding concepts and theories is much more important than to memorize it!
3. Plan your study: Failing to plan is planning to fail! Yes. If you don’t have a specific plan that is suited to bring out the best in, you then you are on your path to fail.
4. Taking breaks: What most people tend to forget is that quantity of education is not the same as quality of education. You need to understand what the maximum amount of time is you can spend at a stretch. It is very important to make sure that you do not burn out studying for the exam. Which is why, breaks are very important. They help you to recollect your thoughts and make sure that the next time you study you are able to get back to studying with more enthusiasm!
5. Make the calculator your best friend: ICAI allows you to bring calculators into the exam hall and you need to make sure that you use it to the best of your abilities. Be familiar with the M+, M-, G buttons. They can be lifesavers and save you precious minutes while you complete the exam!
6. Note taking: Make it a habit to take notes while you attend classes or study on your own. Figure out what works for you and which is the best way that you retain the knowledge.
7. Practice: A lot of times people spend way too much time on studying and don’t get the required practice for the exam. Spend at least 2-3 weeks on practice papers and mock tests before attempting the exam. This will give you a very good idea about the areas that you need to improve upon and the areas that you are confident about.
